This Is How You Rewrite Your Story

How do you rewrite your story when you look in the mirror and you don’t like the reflection looking back at you?

How do you rewrite your story when you look in the mirror and you don’t like the reflection looking back at you? How do you rewrite your story when your life has been riddled with scars of past rejection and hurt? How do you rewrite your story when all you can see is a mountain and you don’t have the right gear to get over it? How do you rewrite your story when you feel like someone is holding your head under water and you don’t have the strength to push free? How do you rewrite your story when your heart aches to be loved but you find it hard to love yourself?

The truth is, our dreams, goals, and expectations require daily persistence. The truth is, sometimes the feelings of depression depend more on what is going on inside of you than what is actually happening around you. The truth is, you have learned helplessness and internalized feeling like a victim with no personal control over your situation. The truth is, your tendency to compare your life to others is not rational. The truth is, feeling like a failure with unmet expectations is the lazy part of your brain telling you to give up. The truth is, you have all you need inside you to become whatever you create.

To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, you need to celebrate when you accomplish a task, no matter how big or small. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, you need to trick your brain into believing you are living a rewarding life without actually living it. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, do something small that gives you joy. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, unplug from distractions and get moving. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, stop comparing yourself to others and surround yourself with positive people. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, get rid of bad habits and believe in yourself! To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, stop making excuses and give yourself a serious self-talk and start affirming the positive. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, set goals and focus on them. To truly live a happy and fulfilled life, start practicing gratitude for the many blessings already surrounding you.

You are not helpless, no one’s ride to a happy life is easy. No matter how old you are, stop convincing yourself that you missed your shot or important opportunities have passed you by. Social media can make us feel like others’ lives are blasted with amazing relationships and glorious vacations, but you don’t know what other people’s lives are like on the inside.

Everyone has setbacks; keep moving forward. Take a few steps back and learn from your mistakes and start thinking about a situation from a constructive angle instead of getting stuck in the negativity. Remind yourself that anyone who wants a successful life will fail at times. Let go of repetitive negative thinking and find inspiration and support from this world and move forward. Forgive those who have hurt you, forego being perfect, eliminate the unnecessary, jump out of your comfort zone, and nurture your own mind with great thoughts. Rewrite your story, because you can.
