6 Things People Don’t Realize You’re Doing Because You’re ‘Too Nice’
1. You go out of your way to avoid unnecessary confrontation.
You hate, hate, hate even the smallest bit of confrontation. For you, it’s much easier to let things go than get into it. You even get weird about honking your horn.
2. You’re always worried about hurting someone’s feelings.
Ties into your fear of confrontation, you despise anything that could be perceived as hurtful to another person. Even ridiculous things like not wanting to tell the waiter he messed up your meal order. You’re so careful. And yes, you are probably being oversensitive, but the idea of causing anyone pain is way too much.
3. You don’t know how to reject people.
You get heart palpitations just thinking about it. If someone approaches you and starts talking, you get sucked into a conversation (until you figure out a polite way to end it). In fact, you’ve given out your number and later thought, Why did I even do that?!
4. You say Yes too much.
You take on projects you don’t have time for. You agree to stuff you’re not really interested in. You help someone out even if they never reciprocate. It’s hard for you to establish boundaries and be a little selfish sometimes.`
5. You take responsibility and/or blame for things you didn’t even do.
You’ll say sorry for something that wasn’t your fault. You’ll apologize when someone wronged you. It’s instinctual. You don’t even mean to do it, you just…do.
6. You don’t always understand sarcasm.
You approach things with such genuineness that when people are just fooling around or joking, you’re not always the first to get it.
