What The Hell Is Going On With This Giant Jellyfish And Why Does It Look Like Something Out Of My Nightmares?

In more reasons why I will never swim in the ocean, researchers recently captured Stygiomedusa Gigantea on video – a rare jellyfish only seen 100 times in past 100 years.

This extra-terrestrial, extra-terrifying creature from the deep depths of the ocean has a head that can measure up to 3ft in diameter and its tendrils can grow up to 20ft in length. Just think about that the next time you’re out there swimming around in the deep blue sea – this thing wandering around out there.
