Read This If You’ve Ever Cried Yourself To Sleep

You're not alone.

Take a look in the mirror. Are your eyes red and puffy? Is your makeup running down your face? Are you trying to catch your breath because you’re crying uncontrollably?

Now, take a look at your pillow. Do you see visible marks where your tears fell. Spots where your makeup smeared on the pillow?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I’m here to let you know you’re not alone.

At some point in our lives we have all cried ourselves to sleep. Whether that be because of a relationship that ended, losing a loved one or simply feeling tired and overwhelmed with our lives, we’ve all been there.

But here’s the thing…you shouldn’t be crying yourself to sleep. When you lay your head on your pillow you should be focused on getting a good night’s rest and ready to take on a new day – not crying over a boy that won’t even matter 10 years from now.

It is completely and totally normal to cry, but never feel like you have to hide how you’re feeling from those around you.

If you’re lucky enough to have a good group of people around you, surround yourself with them and seek help. If you don’t have that group of people to turn to, I encourage you to seek help and find a supportive group. Do not feel like you have to suffer in silence because you feel as if you’re alone in this world.

You are not alone and you will overcome whatever hardships you may be facing. It may not happen today. It may not happen tomorrow, but over time things will turn around.

So, once you’ve started the healing process, look in the mirror again. Does the person in the reflection still have red, puffy eyes? Is makeup still running down your face? Are you trying to catch your breath because you’re crying uncontrollably? Does that pillow of yours still have tear stains on them?

If not, good job. You’re doing amazing, sweetie! If you’re still finding yourself in a bad place, do not give up! Better days are coming, just you wait!
