Many people will say that what I’m writing is hyperbolic, and perhaps it is, but if you’re reading this and are thinking, “This isn’t my life,” please attempt to realize how fortunate you truly are. Be glad that you escaped the cycle.

Lately, I have been wondering if I treated Luc the way that he deserved to be treated. Yes, he probably should have told me about his HIV earlier, but that didn’t give me an excuse to cast him off as dirty or “unclean.”

As a child, I was constantly plagued by a cough.  It was not a cough that resulted from a cold, or a cough that happened when something went down the wrong pipe in my throat.
