You will no longer crave their words in your ear or their touch on your skin. You do not need them to live a fulfilled life.

They are worth all of the pain that you will feel in their absence. They are worth the looks you will receive from people who cannot fathom being in a relationship through college. They are worth the distance.

So while it may hurt to be a girl without a father, it doesn’t have to dictate the way you live your life.

You didn’t just stop having feelings for each other and you didn’t stop being in love with each other. Someone just had a lot of doubt and it ended. It hurt but someone felt that it was a choice that had to be made. However, that doesn’t mean that it was easy for either of you.

When you’re getting ready to leave, DO NOT SHAKE THE SAND OFF OF YOUR TOWELS IN OTHER PEOPLE’S DIRECTION.

You will not be OK at first. And that’s fine. You will find the strength to pick yourself up off the floor in time. On your own time.

I may be broken, I may be hurt, and I may be a little unsteady right now but I will rise up from this tragedy and be better than this broken heart.

Sometimes the waterworks came without warning, at work when you stepped out of your car and heard the band playing your song. Your stomach flipped and shrieked at the sound of those painfully familiar guitar chords.

You live a sheltered life, a life where everyone only loves you unconditionally. You live a life of pleasure and playtime. I wish I could freeze you in time, so that you could always have a whole heart.

We want the love that makes our toes curl and our shoulders go up at the sound of their name. We want a person who enjoys every part about us, even the parts that we ourselves don’t like so much.

If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t know what it’s like to hit rock bottom and then pick myself up from there. If I didn’t know how it feels to reach my lowest point, I wouldn’t fully understand how strong I am and how much resilience I possess.

I’m just going to chug this entire water bottle halfway through the class. I’ll have to crawl my way to a water fountain when this is over.

Being in love implies a sense of maturity.

He gave up on us.

I am lucky that my mom was my only parental impact.

I know you’re hurt and I know you’re broken, but I want you to know that you’re worth so much more than this pain.
