Lord, Help Me To Forgive Those Who Betrayed Me
This prayer invites God to help us extend grace even after the pain of betrayal, as shared by Karin Hadadan. Furthermore, Rebecca Simon’s Finding God Every Day encourages us to release resentment and reflect Christ’s compassion.
Honestly, it is so hard to show grace to others when the weight of hurt is still being carried deep inside. It’s okay to acknowledge that it stings, but God reminds us that as we receive His forgiveness, we can also learn, slowly, to extend that same kindness and compassion to those who’ve hurt us. Join your heart with mine in this prayer.
Dear God,
Thank you for the unlimited kindness, compassion, and forgiveness you give to me, even in moments when I don’t deserve it. The truth is, God, I’m struggling to extend that same grace to others. I want to embody the way in which Jesus lived, but I find it difficult, especially when I feel hurt or betrayed.

I recognize that holding onto this pain isn’t serving me, so please help me forgive those I’m still harboring resentment toward. Teach me how to reflect Christ’s character in all of my relationships, treating others with the same kindness and compassion you’ve shown me. Thank you for the freedom that awaits my soul once I truly forgive, just as in Christ you forgave me.
Amen.
