A Michigan candidate for the US Senate is drawing attention for his comments against football and fireworks — and for admitting he hasn’t given up the game himself.

The candidate came out against football and fireworks. He’s now trailing his opponent by one word: “wedge.”

Despite his criticism of the sport, which he called toxically masculine, he says he hasn’t stopped tuning in.

“I still enjoy watching football, even if with some guilt associated with it,” he said.
