Jimmy Fallon Says Karoline Leavitt Is Moving On to an Easier Job as Press Secretary for Taylor Farms Lettuce
Jimmy Fallon turned Karoline Leavitt’s White House exit into a punchline on Wednesday’s Tonight Show, joking that her next gig would be a step down from the West Wing.
“She’s moving on to an easier job working as the press secretary for Taylor Farms lettuce,” Fallon said of Leavitt’s departure.
The lettuce bit was the payoff to a longer run Fallon built about Trump getting “snuck off Air Force One and onto a catering truck,” leaving his staffers stranded on the plane.
Leavitt, Fallon joked, was one of the people left behind. “It’s like, ‘Oh, really? You didn’t take me?'” he said, before floating Taylor Farms as her landing spot.
He wasn’t done with the abandoned-staffer angle. Fallon claimed Trump also left Secretary of State Marco Rubio on board, adding, “To be fair, Trump forgot that he put him in the overhead bin.”
The monologue also worked in the government’s shifting stance on TikTok and the FAA hiring more than 2,000 gamers as air-traffic controllers.
