Greenland Banned New Oil Licenses in 2021, but a Trump-Orbit Company Is Drilling Anyway
Greenland moved to end its future as an oil frontier in 2021, halting all new exploration licenses. But a company tied to Donald Trump’s orbit is pressing ahead on three permits that predate the ban.

The company is aiming to spud its first well in October, in a bird sanctuary that is supposed to be off-limits.
