Golding’s husband was found dead hours later at a nearby park. Police suspect a murder-suicide. The couple’s baby son was home during the attack and was not hurt.

Golding was found with a stab wound to the back inside her apartment on 41st Street just after midnight on Tuesday, July 21. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault, and EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

Roughly six hours later, her husband, Joseph Azzaretto, was found dead by hanging at Astoria Park, about a mile away. Multiple outlets report police are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. Their infant son was found unharmed at the family’s home.

Golding had built a decade-long career in film and TV after graduating from NYU. Her first credit came as an assistant on Michael Showalter’s “The Big Sick,” and she went on to decorate sets for “Hawkeye,” “Extrapolations,” “Marry Me,” “Full Circle” and “Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer.” She was set to work on Sean Durkin’s upcoming film “Deep Cuts.”

The family had known violence before. Years earlier, Azzaretto’s brother shot and killed their father, Frank Azzaretto, during a fight with their mother, according to the Daily News. Frank Azzaretto had worked in the art department on “Daredevil” and “Unforgettable.”
