The Billionaire Heir Who Runs Louis Vuitton Watches Went to Dinner in Portofino Without Security. His Girlfriend’s Watch Was Stolen

By

The robbery reportedly took place Friday evening in Portofino as Jean Arnault and his girlfriend, Victoria von Faber-Castell, walked to the restaurant Taverna del Marinaio with no security. Two men approached them and stole a valuable watch from Victoria.

Jean, 27, is the youngest of Bernard Arnault’s five children and the youngest son of the LVMH chairman, whose group owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany, and dozens of other luxury brands. He joined Louis Vuitton in 2021 at 23 as Director of Marketing and Development for Watches and now helps lead the brand’s high-horology push through its Swiss manufacture, La Fabrique du Temps. He’s also a serious private collector, which is part of what makes the target of the theft so pointed.

Victoria, around 29, is a ninth-generation member of the Faber-Castell family, the German dynasty behind the 264-year-old pencil and luxury pen maker founded in 1761. The “von” in her name dates to 1898, when heiress Ottilie von Faber married Count Alexander zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and the family name and noble title were combined. She and Jean made their first official public appearance together on the red carpet at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

By Saturday morning, the couple was being accompanied by an armed bodyguard. A local newspaper initially reported that the victim was Jean’s sister Delphine Arnault, the CEO of Christian Dior, but the watch was taken from Victoria.
