While it is common for teenagers to get part-time jobs, some just don’t have the time with their studies and extra-curricular activities. But, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t other ways for them to earn money. In fact, there are all kinds of things that teens can do to make extra cash, and not be dependent on allowances from their parents. Here are just a few money-making opportunities for teens.

1. Test Websites – Many website owners want feedback about their sites. When you sign up with Ubertesting.com, you will be able to provide this feedback, and get paid for your opinions. Each test takes about 20 minutes, and you will receive $10 to $15.

2. Freebie Trading – Companies are willing to pay you for trying their products. All you have to do is sign up for trial offers. For instance, sign up for a free Netflix trial, and you can make money. Make sure that you keep track of the trial periods on a calendar, so you can cancel before the companies try to bill your credit card for further services.

3. Sell MacBook – If you have an older MacBook, you can sell it and use the money to upgrade to a newer model, or for anything else you wish to use it for.

4. Raise Money Online – Are you trying to raise money for a community service project or missions? If so, visit GoFundMe.com to get started. Here you can raise money for any project, from mission trips to weddings to medical bills and more. You can even use it to raise money for your college tuition.

5. Inbox Dollars – This is a great rewards program that offers cash payouts. You can even get a $5 bonus for confirming your email address once you have signed up. Earn money by using the search engine, printing coupons, watching videos, and more. Simply make the search engine your homepage, and you are on your way to making money.

6. Buy and Sell Cars – As long as you are 16 years old or older, you can buy vehicles, fix them up, and sell them for a higher price. You may be surprised at how little you may have to spend to get started. You can often buy a vehicle for less than $500, spend about $200 to fix it up, and then turn around and sell it for upwards of $1,500. Just remember that this is not a way to make fast money. It can often take several weeks, or even months to sell vehicles.

7. eBay – You can make pretty good money by selling stuff you don’t need any more on eBay and other auction websites. You can also sell your unwanted stuff on Craigslist and other want ad sites. Don’t forget to ask family members and friends if they have anything to sell, and you can share the profits for helping them out.

8. Swagbucks – This is a free site where you can earn money in a variety of ways. In addition to money, you can also win gift cards and other prizes by answering polls, using the search engine, shopping online and get cash back, taking surveys, playing games, and doing small tasks such as providing feedback about websites.

9. Online Surveys – This is a great way to make a bit of extra cash, but you need to make sure that you are using reputable sites. Some of the best options if you are interested in doing surveys for cash include Swagbucks, Global Test Market, EPoll, and InstaGC. Never pay to join a site. Doing surveys should be free to you.

10. Do Freelance Writing – If you love to write, you can make money online. Companies are always looking for web content, and they tend to hire freelancers to write it. There are thousands of jobs available through sites such as Elance or Odesk, and topics are varied. You can also make a bit of money by blogging on Hubpages, but this is not something that will happen quickly. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
