Massive Explosion Flattens Entire Hotel And All The Buildings Around It

Yesterday, in Aleppo, Syria, what appears to be a tunnel bomb was set off by Syrian rebels which completely destroyed the Carlton Hotel as well as several buildings around it. If you’ve seen any of these on the news before then you may have noticed that they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger. At the time, the hotel was being used by Syrian troops as a base.

This is after the rebel group released a video of themselves several months ago digging a tunnel under the Carlton and then failing to destroy it.

Tunnel bombs are a tactic most recently used and perfected during World War I. They can be incredibly devastating. This last one, a tunnel bomb like the first, moves more Earth than I would have thought feasible.
