Rodman And Kim Jong-un, The Oddest Couple In the Oddest Nation In The World

It's often hard to tell if Rodman is joking or not when he talks about Kim being "brave and honorable" and by often I mean I have no idea whether he's joking or not.

Well, the Worm has returned to North Korea in what he claims is a bid to get his “good friend” Kim Jong-un to found what could well be the world’s shortest ever professional basketball league. While some have thought that Rodman’s repeat visit to the hermit kingdom, his second, might be for the purpose of seeking the release of Christian missionary and American, Kenneth Bae, Rodman flatly denied that possibility.

“I’m not going to North Korea to discuss freeing Kenneth Bae,” Mr. Rodman, a Basketball Hall of Famer, told Reuters in a telephone interview. “I’m just going there on another basketball diplomacy tour.”

Considering the North Korean malnutrition rate, this seems a dubious plan at best although it’s more likely that he’s simply keeping any official reasons for his visit out of the press…or he really is there just to talk about basketball and advertise for gambling companies. It’s hard to tell which, really. Rodman claims to “love” Kim but hopefully the word has reached him that sometimes Kim hurts the ones he loves, as in he has them executed.
