Dinesh D’Souza, conservative writer and commentator posted this tweet in a clumsy attempt to peg Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as once being supportive of the “Confederate Flag”.

As it turns out, the picture was so fake it took PoliFact only five hours to conclusively determine that the Confederate flag was photoshopped into the picture with Hillary.
D’Souza didn’t doctor the image himself (that might have been more impressive), but rather he had stumbled into a massive social media fail by sharing the photoshopped picture.
D’Souza retracted the image with this tweet a few hours later:
CORRECTION: Disregard the photoshopped Confederate flag in the background of the Hillary photo and simply focus on those glasses and hairdo
