So cuddle up in your quarantine, put your headphones on, and take yourself to your very own concert with this playlist.

One of the highlights of my existence has been regularly going to concerts. I love live music with everything that I have. It has the power to make you feel so alive. The energy of the crowd, the feeling of hearing that song you’ve grown up to. All of it is magical, and full of wanderlust in every sense of the manner. Unfortunately, so far this year the amount of concerts has been very few, and far between. For the projected future, concerts may not function as they always have. This leaves all live music lovers with a void. However, that doesn’t mean that we have to stop appreciating, loving, and listening to incredible acoustic music.

This playlist is designed for the concert lovers. The ones who are missing out on seeing their favorite bands perform this year. The ones who have gotten refunds from their lists of concerts, and those who haven’t. This playlist is for the unplugged. The people who prefer the raw, and real sides of life, and music. This playlist is to fill the void of concerts this year, and to perhaps make you feel new things while it’s at it.

The very first song on this playlist is IDK You Yet, live piano version, by Alexander 23. The romantic, and painful lyrics combined with the simple acoustic goodness is a combo like no other. The words take you to another lifetime. The opening line perfectly describes the feeling of longing for a situation that you just don’t have in your life yet.

How can you miss someone you’ve never met?
‘Cause I need you now but I don’t know you yet

From here, the playlist travels to Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi, another piano version that will absolutely make you feel everything, and nothing. This is such a raw song that you will want to listen to over, and over again. The words are full of a million different stories that could apply to nearly every relationship at some point. It confronts the harsh reality of reflecting on an old relationship, and not knowing what more you could have done. Maybe there was nothing more.

So, before you go
Was there something I could’ve said to make your heart beat better?
If only I’d have known you had a storm to weather

Further down the playlist you’ll find the live version of Cherry Wine by Hozier. This song will take you on a journey of it’s own completely by itself. It will rock your emotions, but also make you feel right at home at the same time. The simple ballads, and easy melodies will help you feel like you’re right next to Hozier, hearing him life. The lyrics are truly poetry, and they will transport you to the concerts you can’t go to this year.

Her eyes and words are so icy
Oh but she burns
Like rum on the fire
Hot and fast and angry as she can be
I walk my days on a wire.

The stripped version of Forever by Fletcher will have you bawling your eyes out, while also feeling completely empowered. This song takes you on a journey through realizing that even though you love someone, you don’t always stay with them. It releases the energy behind leaving someone simply because you have other parts of your life to explore, and adventure. It walks you through those moments where you don’t want to age, and you just want to experience everything.

I wanna be young and party
Be dumb and never feel sorry
Become a freak with my body
I wanna be young and party
I’m tired of taking my phone out
Tell you I’m not coming home now

As the playlist walks you through many more acoustic gems, you’ll find lyrics that comfort you, hurt you, and make you feel everything in-between. John Mayer Live at the Nokia Theatre will make it seem like you’re right there on the front row, listening to the incredible acoustics. It will be the closest live music experience you can have over, and over again. The live version of I Forget Where We Were by Ben Howard will comfort you during incredibly unknown times. The list of amazing acoustics goes on, and on, and on.

Throughout these songs, you’ll uncover heartbreaking memories, along with groundbreaking love. Most importantly, you’ll find the soothing voices of some of the most incredible singers in the world. When an artist performs acoustically, the whole mood is different. It’s really them, and it’s really their voice, and it just feels different.

It feels like the music you have been waiting for this year.

So cuddle up in your quarantine, put your headphones on, and take yourself to your very own concert with this playlist.

You deserve it.
