I hate how upset I get when someone raises their voice at me, when someone takes too long to answer a text, when someone gives me the smallest hint that they are annoyed with me.

You will ruin your 20s by assuming that all of your friends are ahead and you are behind, because your relationship statuses are so different. 

“A large yellow ball pulsed out of the trees and stopped, then pulsed again and shot across the sky to the horizon like a streak of light.”

“EVERYTHING was covered in blood. It was smeared on my swing set, smeared up onto the house (like a good 20-25 feet up), smeared around my pool, and it was all over the grass. The only thing that was clean was the inside of my pool. It was crystal clear, not even a drop of blood in it.”

Taurus: They never change their story even slightly. Every time they retell it, they use the same exact words, because those are the words they practiced in their head before talking to you. 

Taurus: They are open to the idea of getting a tattoo. It’s not like they’re against it. But honestly, they would rather get henna.

What if the real reason they aren’t in an official relationship yet is the obvious reason — because he has zero feelings for her? Because her emotions are one-sided? 

Up until this point, she has given you a million chances — but those chances aren’t going to last forever.

When you lose a cousin, you reevaluate your own life, your own mortality, because their age wasn’t that far off from yours.

When the email pinged out across campus – sent to every student and professor with an .edu address, warning them to stay away from Central Campus, alerting them about an unnamed body, about a poor soul who jumped from the fifth floor, may God rest her soul – no one would have guessed it was me.

Stop being so hard on yourself. Stop looking in the mirror and examining every flaw. Stop assuming that there must be something horribly wrong with you because you haven’t found your person yet.

Date someone you aren’t afraid of giving up the single life for, because you know you aren’t missing out on anything. You know that you have already found the best possible person for you.

You have to fix your own broken heart by taking all of the effort you used to put into the relationship and redirecting that effort toward yourself.

It’s rare for a Libra to text first, because they let their insecurities get the best of them. They don’t want to bother you if you don’t want anything to do with them. 

You will watch her walk away and wonder why you decided to let her go in the first place. 

Date someone who doesn’t believe you’re hard to love, even though you’re convinced that you are. 

I am slowly learning that it is okay to distribute my love with caution.
