You Are Going To Get Through This
There are always reasons to keep going. There are always reasons to make it until tomorrow.
You are probably sick of hearing it gets better. You probably don’t want to hear about how strong you are either since you feel so weak lately. You feel like you can’t take another day of this hell. You want to give up. You are exhausted mentally and physically and all you want to do is rest. You wish you could press pause or fast forward or rewind. You just wish you could be anywhere else but here, anyone else but yourself.
Right now you might be struggling to hold onto your hope. You might be holding onto anger instead. Disappointment. Frustration. You might be holding grudges over heartbreaks that have happened years ago or you might be freaking out about what will happen in the next few minutes or you might be upset over the way you are feeling right this very second.
You might not want to deal with this bullshit anymore, but you are going to get through this. You are going to make it until tomorrow and then you are going to make it until the day after that.
I’m not saying it’s going to be easy to move forward. I’m not promising you that tomorrow is going to be any better. It might be worse. You might go through weeks of torture before making it to paradise — but in between, there will be little moments that make you feel glad you stayed around. It might be something as small as the way your dog jumps on you when you walk through the door or the sound of your crush talking to you through the phone.
Or maybe something bigger will happen. Maybe you’ll find your forever person. Maybe you’ll find a friend who feels like a soulmate. Maybe you’ll land your dream job or laugh until your stomach hurts when your favorite show gets renewed. Maybe you’ll stop feeling numb, or stop feeling downcast, and smile a real smile for the first time in a long time.
Maybe tomorrow will suck. But maybe it will be the best damn day of your life. You need to stick around because there are infinite possibilities in front of you. You never know what is around the corner. You never know what is waiting for you twenty years down the line or two hours down the line.
There are always reasons to keep going. There are always reasons to make it until tomorrow.
I know you are struggling right now, I know you are not okay, but you are going to get through this bullshit. One day, you are going to look back and realize you never deserved to deal with any of this. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Sometimes the softest hearts are the ones that are tested for the longest.
It might be hard to swallow now, but you are going to be okay. You are going to experience happiness again. You are going to get excited about living again. You are going to get through this.
