Just So You Know, It’s Perfectly Okay To Put Yourself First
There will be days where the things that make you really happy eventually bore you.
There will be days where you would rather shut everyone out just because it’s easier.
There will be days where you just want to stay in bed and do nothing all day.
There will be days where it seems like you are carrying the weight of the world.
There will be days where you just feel empty.
There will be days where you don’t know exactly how to explain yourself when someone asks you “what’s wrong?” or “why?”
And there will be days where you just need to be alone and heal your own.
And that’s okay.
It’s okay to ultimately put yourself first and stay exactly where you are.
Don’t listen to the whispers and small talks behind your back because it is you who will benefit from having a time off. It is you who will feel refreshed and complete even when you’re alone. It is you who will appreciate the freedom from your own skin. It is you who will appreciate that your happiness is not confined to anyone. It is you who will learn that at the end of the day, you are your own hero. You dictate your own fate.
In being alone, you will get to know yourself more. You will learn how to strengthen your self-worth. You will understand that there is nothing wrong for saying no from being surrounded with company that wouldn’t probably be present when you hit rock bottom.
But in being alone, you have to understand that it’s not the same with building high and thick walls. There are still people out there who are really worth letting in – those that are really consistent and sincere to know how you really are, but you should remember that the power to control who and what makes you happy or hurt solely depends on you.
