Vuyo Mvoko, one of South Africa’s most well-known TV reporters, was mugged on while on camera in Johannesburg.

The men took three cellphones from the crew and from Mvoko as well as a laptop.

One of the muggers threatened Mvoko with a gun when he refused to hand over his cellphone.

He has since tweeted that he is safe and sound.

“Hopefully someone will be able to identify them and get them arrested,” Mvoko said to BBC.

“I couldn’t understand why they’d walk right in front of the camera because the light is on and they could see that – and our car is branded, so they could see that this is a live broadcast.”

Truly bizarre.
