So, as you all embark on the next stage of your young adult lives, I wanted to leave you with some advice to carry you through the next four years.

Although it took time, I learned that my loss and my grief would pave the way to my happiness. 

The day that my mom died became a day that marked the beginning of a slow metamorphosis into the person I am now. Half stone, half soul.

You can’t say come back later, try again another day. Or month. Or year.

Recognize your mother for who she is: an amazing woman, a remarkable mother, and the best friend you will ever have.
