We spend all this time trying to “figure it out” when we’re being led there all along.

Treading water through my twenties. Just exerting all this energy to stay afloat. Never moving forward or back. Just existing right above the surface. 

Not alone like by yourself, but alone like when you feel so empty and you can’t think of one person to talk to.

This one is for when you or anyone that you have or had feelings for is caught up in the one-dimensional parts of this world.

I’m learning that I can change what I want to change and continue to pursue the pieces of my life that are working without any regard to anyone else.

The value of your friendship does not lie in length of duration.

Reality is pretty too. It’s also ugly, but not as ugly as over-edited perfection.

Outgrowing certain people and activities can be one of the most bittersweet signs of personal growth.

I’m sorry that I can’t say it to your face, but I had to write it somehow.

Desiring human connection is totally normal.

Do you want to text him because you actually want to talk to him? You saw something that reminded you of him? You miss him? You want to see how he’s doing? Or are you texting him because you’re questioning how you feel and you want him to somehow reaffirm something?

I let myself think about all of the things that come to mind when people who know our story ask me what the hell I saw in you anyway. And I do remember what I saw in you. I do.
