You Deserve To Heal Yourself

It’s time to stop placing blame outwards. The external is, and always will be, a reflection of the internal.

Stop waiting to show yourself the love and attention that you have deserved all along. Stop convincing yourself that you first need to attain something or lose something in order to make peace with your soul’s existence. It’s time to stop denying that you are the one inflicting so much pain upon yourself. It’s time to start the healing process.

It’s time to stop surrounding yourself with people who make you feel lonelier than you would if you were alone. These people are a manifestation of a fear of loneliness, they cannot and will not fill that void. It’s time to stop filling your head with thoughts that hinder your growth, whether these were original or unoriginal thoughts. You are the only one inhibiting your growth. It’s time to stop placing blame outwards. The external is, and always will be, a reflection of the internal.

It’s time to stop regretting or yearning for your past and it’s time to make peace with it. Realize that the pain you have experienced is an opportunity to rebuild yourself twice as strong. As the Buddha says, “You can only lose what you cling to.” So let go of it all, and make room for the things meant to stay.

It’s time to look deep within yourself and get to know why you are who you are.

Why do you do the things you do, think the way you think, feel the way you feel? Why do you so freely forgive the ones who have wronged you, but punish yourself constantly for things that are insignificant in the grand scheme of things? Why do you give yourself a free pass to treat others one way, but find yourself upset when they do the same to you? The people we meet in our lives are a part of a journey larger than ourselves. They are meant to crack open pieces of ourselves that need healing, and give us a sense of where our strengths and weaknesses lie. Look at who you have attracted into your inner circle and ask yourself, what do these people say about me? What do I like about them? Do I like them? Do I like me?

What qualities do you wish you had within yourself, and more importantly, why do you not have them already? What is it that’s stopping you from becoming who you feel you are meant to become? Are you enjoying yourself or doing what you feel you need to do to get by? Are you living your life the way you want to, or the way it has been mapped out for you by someone else?

Speak up. Stand up to yourself and your inner demons. Stand up to those around you who reflect parts of you that you need to overcome. Fight for your damn life. Create it, build it, cherish it, protect it, and savor it. It’s time to stop rejecting that which needs to be accepted. It’s time to stop accepting that which needs to be rejected.

It’s time to stop poisoning yourself with vices, negativity, and internal rejection.

It’s time to forgive and move on. It’s time to get to know yourself and learn what you need to heal.

It’s okay to do that, you know. It’s okay that it’s taken this long, because the time is finally now. Now is the time to heal yourself. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
