It’s Okay To Love Something Even If You Know You’re Going To Lose It

It’s okay to love something even if you know you’re going to lose it
There is nothing guaranteed in this life. Sometimes God pulls us closer to things that eventually will leave us, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t love them with your entire being.
You shouldn’t stop yourself from falling in love with something even if you know there is an expiration date. The little infinities that you allow yourself to have make you who you are, and every heartbreak is another step closer to the next great thing coming your way.
Sometimes it’s okay to start things that you know you won’t be able to see to the end, because even if it is just for a short time, there is nothing better than being in love. Whether it’s with someone or something, there is no greater feeling than giving up all control and just letting yourself feel everything so deeply. Remember, there is nothing more beautiful than being vulnerable, and there is nothing riskier than pretending not to care. You’re doing yourself a huge disservice if you’re not allowing yourself to feel love and heartbreak. After all, it’s better to love and have lost than never to have loved at all, and I promise you, you’ll regret not loving something with all that you have to give.
So, the next time you find yourself thinking, “Man, it’s going to hurt when they leave” or “I’m not ready for this to end,” remember that not everything is meant to last forever. Sometimes, no matter how bad you want something to last, it just wasn’t meant to be. Take what you learned and use it to help you with the next person or thing you fall in love with.
All of this is a part of some master plan that we will never be able to understand. Stop taking things so seriously. Cherish the moments, cry when they end, but never deny yourself the experience. Love like it’s the only thing you know how to do. Start considering yourself lucky if a goodbye is hard, because that means that it meant something. It means you had something that was worth losing.
