For The Girl Who Loved All Wrong

I planted tulips in the spaces where you once had eyes, Hoping that one day, there'd be so many flowers…

Beautiful girl, do not mistake his shoulder for a home.
You were not made simply, for the birds and the bees.
Triumphant woman, you were created as complex as they come.
Galaxies fill the hollows in your heart, with tiny pulsing stars.
Where imagination once flourished as a garden.
Sweet soil packed down to share the shadows of travelers past.
And he buried you there,
Ravaging the temple you’d been guarding for so long.
I planted tulips in the spaces where you once had eyes,
Hoping that one day, there’d be so many flowers…
You’d never have to question love,
Enough to kill again. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
