He isn’t around to spend the night or sit listening to her stories at any dinner table but he’s always there on every puff of cigarettes she takes, every shot of Vodka she tries to get drunk on and every kiss she mindlessly places on a stranger’s lips.

We leave our vulnerable moments swept away by the current of time into a long gone past, and join the force of the strong and independent who have it all together. We will go on to do great things and our lives will seem perfect.

You can’t deny that you miss him. You will give in to him. You will wag your little tail and welcome him inside your world, inside your body all over again.

When your heart races and your knees get weak, forget about chill and be real to yourself. Don’t fight your feelings and don’t hide your true thoughts. Embrace them. Show them. Be vulnerable.

Just like that, when life gives you lemon, squeeze that fucking lemon. If you are ever in doubt, if along the way you struggle to fight the obstacles, tell yourself this: Hard times are the times your character is tested. 

Because of pride, we will never accept that we still feel something for each other. Not in a million years.

When someone doesn’t want you, one day you will be thankful for their honesty and decision because they have let you go on to find yourself and the happiness you deserve.
