Being in New York City feels like you’re part of history all the time. I notice that I live my life with a feeling of importance, as if I’m a character in a compelling story that will be told someday.

I knew it was going to be difficult, but I thought I was ready for a challenge.

I am enough.

So keep speaking up when you’re ready. Keep holding the hands of the women around you and giving them a gentle nudge in the direction of courage with a simple ‘me too.’

I want a love that mimics the New York February cold.

Now, here we were in my room again with me pushing my thoughts aside to accommodate the feeling of having him close for just one more night.

And now, I not only understand this advice, but I’ve dished it out a few times myself: “It sucks here. Don’t leave. It’s the greatest city in the world.”
