When 13-year-old Pepeijn Bruins’ pet rat died from cancer, he did what all children do when their pets die — grieve. But he did something different with his rat’s body. Instead of the traditional burial that we’re all so familiar with, little Pepeijn thought of something more grandiose. Something more fitting for his rat, Ratjetoe.

“I loved him very much. He always liked to be cuddled and he would run up my clothes and hide,” Pepeijn said of Rajetoe.

To commemorate the rat’s life, Pepeijn called up Dutch inventors Arjen Beltman and Bart Jansen, who’ve created the world’s first flying cat corpse.

Is this weird or just good old heartwarmin’ fun?
