The Outcome Of Your Life Is Your Own Responsibility

The idea that you can use your pain to turn your heartbreak into something beautiful and remarkable says so much about the kind of strength that you have as a person.

I don’t think we like to come to the realization that the outcome of our life is completely our responsibility and ours alone.

You can never avoid the soul-crushing circumstances that may happen in our lives. However, this is no excuse to drown yourself in self-pity, guilt, and regret. Every day, you have the chance to start over. The dark realization is this—at the end of the day, you’re responsible for your own healing.

It’s okay to take some time off and heal according to your timeline. But in your healing, you only have yourself to hold accountable for what you choose to do with your pain. You can sit around and feel sorry for yourself or you can actually move your ass and do something about your life.

The idea that you can use your pain to turn your heartbreak into something beautiful and remarkable says so much about the kind of strength that you have as a person. It takes so much power and courage to take yourself out of darkness, whether that’s in the form of your self-destructive thoughts, habits, or a certain lifestyle. The fact that you’ve come to the realization that your life is only going to change if you let it is the first step in healing. Most people only ever talk about changing their lives and being better without the action itself. Intention without execution of your action is still no action.

At the end of the day, the world isn’t ever going to stop for you. No matter how much you feel sorry for yourself, the world is never going to just stop because you’re hurting. The world will keep turning as it did before you went through the situation that destroyed you and threw off the balance in your life. The only choice you have from this moment on is this: Are you going to move forward with every ounce of strength and bravery in you, or are you going to let your circumstance be your identity?
