Fall in love with the hours and the time spent actually producing and doing. Don’t fantasize about what life will be like when you reach the goal, but maintain the sobriety of process and action.

Don’t assume you know more than you do. Be willing to learn everywhere. And be willing to take opportunities everywhere.

Things become clockwork. We reach for our phone first thing in the morning or incessantly check social media throughout the day because, well, that’s what we always do. These are habits.

When I talk about sobriety, I don’t solely mean the abstinence of alcohol, but the sobriety of our thoughts. The sobriety of how we approach the world and makes sense of the events around us.

To advance at any career, improvement and work requires discipline. It’s a matter of doing the work, or not doing the work—as is your option on a run. You can either keep moving your legs forward, or you can stop and quit.

Goals, dreams, and even entertainment and possessions we care about are good to have in life. They make us human. Just as buying, selling, and marketing are human.

Everyone wants to be successful. Everyone defines it differently. Don’t be clouded by the definitions of others.
