Space. It’s vast and truly terrifying to think about. But we get images like this. The Hubble Space Telescope took photographs of this star — V838 Monocerotis — for four years. It looks like something out of a science fiction movie! This is happening all around us — we just can’t see it. Isn’t space wonderful?
