In the early ’90s, Australia was shocked by the gruesome killings of seven foreign backpackers in the Belanglo State Forest.

Murderers are often seen as conniving, cunning, and wily. While that is frequently the case, the serial killers I’ll tell you about here certainly didn’t exhibit those traits when they got caught for their crimes.

The real-life Dexter story is just as engrossing as the fictionalized one on TV, but possibly a lot weirder—although they do say that truth is often stranger than fiction.
