Dead at 48, Weiland was an icon who first achieved fame as the decades long frontman for grunge rock band, Stone Temple Pilots and, in more recent years the frontman for super group, Velvet Revolver. He passed away in his sleep on the tour bus while touring with his current band, The Wildabouts. No cause of death has been released.
