Steve Jr. Wants Equity in Kacie’s Tallow Business, but His Dad’s Playbook Is What Put the McBees in Federal Court
Like father, like son.

On this week’s episode of McBee Dynasty, Kacie and Steve McBee Jr. are at odds over the family’s tallow skincare business — with Kacie arguing that the McBees’ aggressive growth strategy is the same one that has repeatedly landed the family in trouble.

The dispute picks up where the show’s ongoing skincare storyline left off. Steve Jr. had promised Kacie she could keep 100 percent of the company, but after seeing how well it was performing, he changed course. He now wants to claim a portion of the equity for himself and hand some to his girlfriend, Allie.
Kacie says a toxic family cycle is repeating itself. Steve McBee Sr. once gave his then-girlfriend, Galyna, 10 percent of the business in exchange for her work as CFO. After Steve Sr. left Galyna for Masha, that equity kept him tied to her: to fully move on, she would have to give up the stake she had worked for.
Kacie suggests part of Steve Jr.’s motivation may be similar — that equity could keep Allie bound to the McBees if the tallow business succeeds, whether she wants to be or not. Allie, however, appears unlikely to be trapped that way. She earns enough as an influencer to walk away, and she has said she never asked for or wanted a stake in the business.

Kacie also questions the underlying “grow fast at all costs” philosophy, noting it hasn’t served the family well. Steve Sr. is in federal prison for federal crop insurance fraud, the family has struggled to keep up with payments, and they have been selling off major assets.
Even so, Steve Jr. wants to apply that same approach to Kacie’s tallow business.

Steve Jr. went to business school and Kacie did not — but on this issue, she may have the sharper instincts.
