We Weren’t Love, We Were A Natural Disaster

The most natural disasters are ones we always see coming, but are somehow always surprised by.

To me, you were

The sky and the stars

And every wish that I made

And I think about how

You were that to someone before and now you’ll be it again after

And how lucky you are

To have been that at all

And how I was to you

Except when I was a flood

And a tornado

The most natural disasters

Are ones we always see coming

But are somehow always surprised by.

To me, you came

When I needed you the least

And were gone

When I wanted you the most

But how lucky were we ?

And how lucky we will be again someday

When were done picking up pieces of ourselves

From the most natural disaster

That we had always seen coming

And were somehow still wrecked by. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
