Remember This On The Days When All You Feel Is Lonely
Silence your thoughts and do not utter an ounce of negativity. It isn’t needed and you don’t deserve it. The emptiness that you feel inside right now is only temporary. There is still plenty of time for things to change.
Don’t type anything to your ex because it isn’t worth it. Contacting him at this state isn’t worth throwing away your dignity for an hour with him. He’ll take advantage of your vulnerable condition as he did before so don’t do it. Whatever you’re typing, delete it.
You never saw this coming did you? These cold nights where silence pierced through the air; where loneliness shrieked loudly, leaving its shrilling echoing in your ears. You thought you were free, but you weren’t – you were only given a few months pass to feel that numb.
Well you’ve done it again, you’ve numbed your heart. After all the heartaches, disappointments, and lies, you took it upon yourself to protect your heart. You needed to do what was necessary to heal, let go, and move on. In doing so, you were able to brush yourself off and stand firm on the ground. You did it, you found your footing once more!
Unfortunately, moving on and healing doesn’t guarantee a world free from loneliness. Right now, your heart may be filled with echoes of your crushing thoughts and pessimistic assumptions. I can tell you right now that you shouldn’t listen to it, any of it.
You aren’t going to die alone or succumb to loneliness. In fact, you won’t die as an old hag. You will be fine because that’s the way life works – it will always be fine and if it isn’t, trust that a pathway will open up to direct you.
We all have these occasional nights. These are the nights when we hear crickets and wish that we’re stargazing holding hands with our significant other. These are the nights when we especially wish that the stars would align. These are the nights when we go back and forth on whether texting our ex is a good idea. These are the nights when swiping right on that fuckboy sounds like a perfect evening. These are the nights when regret comes barging at our front door. These are the nights when we feel our most isolated yet we forget that it is normal.
It’s okay to feel lonely once in awhile. It’s not easy navigating this world as a strong, independent woman in an world where those like you have the assistance of their partner’s hands. Take a look at yourself before you begin the self-pity party and the worrying.
You are here.
You have made it this far.
You are fine.
What you feel is temporary.
Lay your pessimistic thoughts and worries on the table and put it aside.
You are not broken, you’re just lonely and that’s alright.
