Did you know the new Jurassic Park movie was supposed to feature an LGBTQ+ character? No, seriously. According to actress Daniella Pineda, her Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom character was revealed to be lesbian in a now-deleted scene.

“There was a scene I really loved, and I understand why they cut it for sake of time, but it’s me and Chris Pratt and we’re in a military vehicle with all these mercenaries,” Pineda told People. “And it’s kind of quiet and I look at Chris and I’m like, ‘Yeah. Square jaw, good bone structure, tall, muscles. I don’t date men, but if I did, it would be you. It would gross me out, but I’d do it.’ ”

In the film, Pineda plays Dr. Zia Rodriguez, a dinosaur veterinarian who travels with Chris Pratt’s and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters. It’s kind of disappointing that the scene got cut, considering that kind of exposure would have been awesome, especially during pride month, but there’s always a chance it’ll come up again in later movies. At least, that’s what Pineda hopes.

“I’d like to see more of that, especially in big ass movies,” she said. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
