Kelly Clarkson kicked off the Billboard Music Awards in the most American Idol-esque way possible — by singing a medley of other people’s songs.

Clarkson covered Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble,” among others. But what viewers really couldn’t stop laughing at was Taylor Swift’s reaction when the Voice coach began singing her hit song “Look What You Made Me Do.”

Taylor responded by lip syncing with the song while rolling her eyes and glancing at her nails a la Mean Girls, then burst out laughing.

Later in the night, Taylor Swift also caught the world’s attention when she won the award for Top Female Artist.
