Dumbass Ohio Governor Candidate Just Made A Dumbass Facebook Post About Sexual Assault

He decided it was time to "speak up on behalf of all heterosexual males" and listed off a number of the women had had slept with over the years.

If you aren’t from Ohio, there’s a chance you haven’t heard about justice Bill O’Neill, a Democrat who was served on the Ohio Supreme Court for 10 years. He recently decided to run for governor in 2018, and as of earlier today, he made a very, erm, interesting public statement about all the recent sexual assault allegations against politicians. I’ll just let you read it for yourself.

O’Neill originally posted on Facebook:

Now that the dogs of war are calling for the head of Senator Al Franken I believe it is time to speak up on behalf of all heterosexual males. As a candidate for Governor let me save my opponents some research time. In the last fifty years I was sexually intimate with approximately 50 very attractive females. It ranged from a gorgeous personal secretary to Senator Bob Taft (Senior) who was my first true love and we made passionate love in the hayloft of her parents barn in Gallipolis and ended with a drop dead gorgeous red head who was a senior advisor to Peter Lewis at Progressive Insurance in Cleveland.

Now can we get back to discussing legalizing marijuana and opening the state hospital network to combat the opioid crisis. I am sooooo disappointed by this national feeding frenzy about sexual indiscretions decades ago.

Peace.

Wow. Okay. I’m going to need a second to really soak this all in.

… Okay, I’m ready now.

First of all: what the fuck??? Is a U.S. politician actually so openly belittling sexual assault? Is he actually saying that legalizing marijuana is more important than dismantling the culture around sexual misconduct and what has made it okay for years, that legalizing marijuana is more important than the safety of women? Look, I’m all for legalization, but do you know what I care about just a little more? WOMEN.

Second of all: what the fuck??? Do you really think “opening up” about your sexual acts is going to immunize you if any one of those women come forward about you sexually assaulting them? These politicians aren’t getting in trouble because they have carnal desires — I couldn’t give two fucks about what some old dude does consensually behind closed doors. These politicians are getting in trouble because they have carnal desires that they’re acting on non-consensually, and if you think you’re going to get away with something just because you’re being “candid”, you’re wrong.

As I’m sure you can imagine, people did not take his comments lightly:

Others shamed the official for not being more careful with the women’s identities, which the politician heeded, at least. Not that that’s saying much.

Since then, O’Neill has edited his post to make it more “user-friendly”:
