You Have To Remember To Check If You’re Okay

You’re mad because you allowed yourself to become this person who does these things, who has these thoughts. Don’t blame yourself. It’s okay. In life, we sometimes fall out of step with our soul. It happens to the best of us.

It doesn’t matter how much you think you know.

We always need to be humble with ourselves and check in, to see if, and where, we’re hurting.

You never think you’d ever be the one with depression, to have a psychotic break, to struggle with self-harm, drug addiction, alcoholism, sex addiction, on top of a bridge ready to jump  –  until you’re there, confused as to how you got there.

You’re mad because you allowed yourself to become this person who does these things, who has these thoughts. Don’t blame yourself. It’s okay. In life, we sometimes fall out of step with our soul. It happens to the best of us.

That’s why we need to regularly check in and reevaluate our internal system, to see how we feel, away from external energies and voices.

Are we well?

And if we are not, then we have to muster the courage to do whatever it takes to restore our well-being. That’s the crux of it – we ignore what we know is right sometimes, because our mind is in uproar with our spirit.

So when those moments arrive, and your mind yells in objection and provides you with ample reason to follow it, just say, I love you, I appreciate you for all that you are, but you don’t always know what’s best for me.

Turn to your soul, link arms and tell it to lead the way.

That is the beginning of your road to recovery. You can get on at anytime.

Sit with yourself and let it teach you.
