This is What Mobile Internet May Look Like in the Near Future

Concept designer Mac Funamizu hopes his very Minority Report-ish mobile internet ‘looking glass’ concepts pictured in this gallery will be the form mobile devices take moving into the future. Pretty impressive stuff – but could a gadget ever have that much processing power? Either way, cool to dream about.

New 'Pour Painting' Video is Serene

Here’s a nice thing. It’s kind of like a more expensive version of Spirograph, just easier to fuck up and way more trippy. Wish I had a large white room with evenly spaced rectangular prisms, a lot of money to spend on paint, an interested gallery director and a talented cinematographer friend. Bliss out to the video after the jump.

All the Bees Are Dying and the Consequences Seem Bleak

The bees of the world are dying. All of them. This is not something new. But now the bee plague – “colony collapse disorder,” which is either caused by a virus or a pesticide or a fungus or a combination of all three, no one really knows – is starting to raise serious concerns.

Beavis And Butthead Are Coming Back

Yesterday MTV announced that this summer they will be bringing back Beavis And Butthead, the 1990s series that a lot of people’s parents wouldn’t let them watch. Justin Beiber, who I think was born after the series ended, tweeted “”Beavis and Butt-head are coming back!!!” Here’s an old episode to get reacquainted.

What People Are Trying To Communicate With Their Profile Pics, Part 2

Aside from their ‘zine-like’ Internet personas, these individuals are moreover likely to keep Moleskines in which they write terrible poetry in highly visible positions in coffee shops and other public areas, promote “foreign film” and lace their status updates with words in French, occasionally German.

You Might Want To Buy These T-Shirts After You See Them

Glenn Jones – the designer behind all this work – seems like a pretty clever dude, and his t-shirt designs in this gallery reflect a very ‘palatable’ range of irony, sarcasm, humor and fun that feels at its core very modest, friendly and approachable. I like them a lot. Check out the gallery after the jump.

Gang Fight Takes Unexpected, Delightful Turn

Watch this backyard gangfight take a bizarre turn for the worse (or the better?) after one dude receives a shocking blow to the jaw. You’ll laugh – it’s not what you’re expecting. Safe for work. Video after the jump.

There is Now a Website For Tracking How Many People You've Had Sex With

nOOkist’s “statistics” “show hard, raw numbers… about your sexual lifestyle and what it will take to make a difference in your life.” And in your “session log,” you can even record the position(s) in which you had sex! And they want your former sexual partners contact information. What an awesome, stoic, intelligent idea for a website.

Woman on 911 Call Kills Intruder

“I don’t want to have to kill this man, but I’ll kill him graveyard dead, ma’am,” said 57 year-old Donna Jackson of Oklahoma – whose home was in the process of being broken into by what seemed to be an insane man – to the emergency dispatcher on the line, who had just advised her that she had the right to “defend her property” if necessary. Moments later, Jackson killed the intruder with her shotgun. Listen to the call inside.

Egypt Has Shut Off Internet and Cell Phone Service to Entire Populace

After four days of protests “calling for the departure of despotic President Hosni Mubarak, who has been in power since 1981,” the Egyptian government has disabled access to the internet and cell phone service. This move is apparently in response to the mass protests – which many have predicted would be the biggest this week – planned for today after Friday prayers.
