Here’s John Oliver taking GM to task over its recent recall of 11 million vehicles (“at this point we’re approaching a Total Recall”) for problems such as steering loss, power brake failure, and “the fact that airbags, brakes, and power steering could all shut off at the same time.” According to Oliver’s analysis, the company has a list of over 65 words employees are not allowed to use when referring to the defects. The problems are being blamed, according to the “government’s own files,” for at least 303 automobile-related accidents and 13 automobile-related deaths. GM knew about these potentially life-threatening issues in its automobiles since 2001, Oliver says. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
