This week in Alamogordo, New Mexico, a man who apparently wanted to get back at his ex-girlfriend for aborting their unborn child ran a billboard that reads “This Would Have Been A Picture Of My 2-Month Old Baby If The Mother Had Decided To Not KILL Our Child!” Next to the text is the man – 35-year-old Greg Fultz – holding a black silhouette of an infant in his arms.
The message ran with an endorsement from New Mexico Right To Life, as well as the credit for the billboard going to NANI – National Association for Needed Information – a pro-life organization Fultz created, of which he’s the only member. Not coincidentally, Nani also happens to be his girlfriend’s first name.
But but what’s extremely #winning about this whole thing is that according to KOAT New Mexico, Fultz “admits that he has no idea how the baby was lost.”
Which basically compounds the level of fucked-up this story really represents, right? In response to all this nonsense, Fultz’ ex-girlfriend has taken him to court for harassment and violation of privacy (and has also stated that she lost the baby during a miscarriage), while Fultz’ lawyer is arguing that whether or not the woman had an abortion is insignificant – what’s at stake here is Fultz’ right to free speech.
Meanwhile, upon learning that the dude’s ex-girlfriend possibly did not abort her baby, New Mexico Right To Life has asked Fultz to remove its endorsement from the billboard.
Last week, a domestic violence court commissioner “recommended an order of protection for [Fultz’ ex-girlfriend] and that the billboard be removed by 8:14 a.m. on June 17 on the grounds of harassment,” according to ABC News. Fultz and his lawyer plan on opposing the ruling, but have since removed “NANI” from the sign because it “distracted” people from the message of the billboard.
