5 Signs You’re A Real-Life Monica Geller

You expect nothing but the best, even from yourself.

Monica Geller is the epitome of a — I’m sorry, THE — control freak. We’ve watched her adorable quirks and annoying habits throughout the ten seasons of Friends, and surely, all perfectionist fans of this iconic TV show have asked themselves this question at least once in their life: “Oh my god, am I a Monica Geller?!”

1. You’re beyond just “clean.” You’re a neat freak.

It’s one thing to enjoy cleanliness, but it’s an entirely different thing to be obsessed with organization. You can’t leave the house without your sink squeaky clean. You’re annoyed when that picture frame in your living room is off by a 1-degree angle. All of your stuff is probably labeled. You won’t let anyone else clean your bedroom. You won’t stop patting that throw pillow until it’s as fluffy as a cotton candy wonderland. And no, I won’t be surprised if your closet is color-coordinated, and arranged according to shade, too.

2. You’re the one with the plan. Always.

Be it your birthday, your best friend’s wedding, or cooking for Thanksgiving, everyone knows they can count on you. You have probably thought of every possible mishap at least twice, and you always have a gazillion back-up plans prepared — as if you’ll be needing them, anyway. You might be known as the nagger, but heck, at least you know you’re the responsible one!

3. You’re pretty damn competitive.

And it holds true for everything! Whether it’s a beer pong match, a job opportunity, an exam, or a cook-off, you always know that you’re destined to win, and you won’t give up until you do. Classic Monica.

4. You expect nothing but the best, even from yourself.

You strive for perfection. You have high hopes and dreams. You know what you want, when you want it, and how to get it. You get disappointed once in a while; especially when things don’t go the way you want them to be. Your high expectations keep your strong personality in check, and your feet planted on the ground.

5. You’re determined to prove doubters (and haters!) wrong.

Critics will throw a couple of negative comments your way, and this will really hurt your ego. However, you won’t let this discourage you even for a bit. You try harder, do better, and vow to prove all of them wrong. You know what you can do — no doubt about that — and you’ll do everything to show your doubters what you’re capable of. You’re not the type to give up, and you never will be. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
