Stop Overlooking Your Forever Soulmate

Realize that the person you’ve been overlooking for so long is more than likely your forever soulmate.

As a woman, I’m guilty of it. I have some of the greatest men in my life. The only problem is, I’ve friend-zoned the shit out of them while they’ve watched me be with douchebag after douchebag. I’m not proud of it. To be completely honest, I’m beyond ashamed of it. I’ve dated the scummiest of scum, only for it not to work out while my “friend” is there all along to wipe the tears, tell me how I deserve better, and be there to help me stand on my own two feet again.

He’s always there.

Whenever the world seems to be crumbling around me, he’s there. A guy breaks my heart? He’s there. My dad’s birthday? He’s there. Father’s Day? He’s there. My birthday? He’s there. In a bad mood? He’s there. My car’s making a funny noise? He’s there. He’s always there. He’s always the dependable guy that will come running to help as soon as he’s called. He has one of the kindest hearts and is constantly trying to lend his help. And he never asks for anything in return.

His loyalty is never questioned.

After dating flaming hot garbage and it not working out, it’s hard not to be left questioning your self-worth or if there’s something wrong with you. It’s hard not to wonder that it must be you, because why else would this one not work out and this one and the next one and so on? But it’s not you, it’s the terrible taste you have. You’ve dated dirtbag after dirtbag without questioning why you’re attracted to nothing but problems and issues. The only thing that’s wrong with you is that you give to all of the wrong people. Take a look around and start questioning everyone else’s loyalty instead of your own. Take a look around and think about who’s always there when you need him.

Pull your head out of your ass.

Literally. Stop wearing your ass as a hat. It’s not cute. It’s not endearing. Take a look around and realize who has always been there (INSERT HAND CLAPPING EMOJI HERE). Realize who you can always count on. Realize that their loyalty never has to be questioned and they are the most dependable person you know. Realize that even after dating his scumbag friends, they still adore you. Realize that they’re constantly considering you and your feelings. Realize that the person you’ve been overlooking for so long is more than likely your forever soulmate.

Realize it.

And then do something about it.
