At first your heart will break with every goodbye, but eventually the thrill of the adventure and the anticipation of seeing him again will replace that hurt.

I will take this immense, soul shattering hurt and I will acknowledge it and let it go. I will not let it callous my heart and make me resentful.

I’m sharing the things that I’ve learned throughout this process because I wish someone had been there to teach me these things beforehand, and perhaps this can act as a guide for the next time you find yourself building a new nest.
