How To Live A Life Of Pleasure
(If you’re in India, you won’t find this suggestion at all outlandish and are probably having a member of your staff massage you as you read this – good for you!).

Figuring out how to fill your days when you don’t have a regular (or any) job can sometimes be a challenge with existential anguish setting in if one doesn’t stay active. This is a problem shared by rich housewives, trust fund babies, and the jet set pauper alike.
Of course, the benefit to not being consumed by work or other mundane responsibilities is that you can pursue life as an art form in which every moment is to be savored and enjoyed. For those with ample free time, here is a sample day sure to please:
11:00 -12:00 Wake up and begin correspondence from bed. Since there is no place you urgently need to be, take as long as you like during this transitory stage to alertness. Forcing yourself out of bed prematurely can cast a negative spell on the rest of the day. Breakfast is best taken in bed on a serving tray (if you’re in India, you won’t find this suggestion at all outlandish and are probably having a member of your staff massage you as you read this – good for you!). Make arrangements for a lunch date later in the day. Also finalize any RSVPs for evening engagements.
12:00-12:45 Take a leisurely bath. This is a great time to think about life, what one hopes to accomplish for the day, or just shave your legs in uninterrupted peace. Play some music or catch up on the day’s news with the TV on for maximum pleasure / edification.
1:30 – 2:30 Meet a friend or business associate for lunch. This should be relaxed and in the European style, meaning a brasserie setting. Once again take the opportunity to flout American puritanical norms and have a glass (or bottle depending on who’s paying) of champagne. Everyday you’re alive is a celebration, after all.
2:30 – 4:30 Do some work, preferably by a pool if possible. Even trust funders have to do something to keep their minds occupied and their parents happy that they’re up to something productive.
4:30 – 5:30 Now that you’ve exhausted your mind, it’s time to do the same for your body. Engage in some type of physical activity, whether it be a round of tennis, an hour in the gym, or yoga class.
5:30 – 6:30 All of this living can be draining. Do something indulgent to recharge your soul. You could have a massage, get a pedicure, or have a Reiki healer come to your home.
6:30 – 7:00 It’s time to transition to evening dress. Don’t rush this step lest you walk out of the house in a rash ensemble.
7:00 – 8:00 No one should pay for drinks during cocktail hour with the bevy of invitations to industry functions flooding your inbox. Choose the most promising event where there will be an open bar and networking connections. Socializing is an important aspect to any business and an ideal time to show off new clothing and jewelry purchases.
8 – 9:30 Dinner is best enjoyed during these hours. If you’re dining for one, it’s better to take yourself out a restaurant and eat at the bar. Most likely you’ll soon strike up conversation with a fellow patron and won’t be eating alone by the time your main course arrives. Otherwise enjoy this intimate time with a lover or date (as long as you don’t have to cook).
10:00 – 12:00 The best parties happen at home – whether this be yours or a friend’s. There’s no point in wasting time in a club unless it is one your friend owns and then it’s like partying in their home anyway. Remember nothing good happens after midnight and plus you need to rest to repeat all this tomorrow.
