A Message To Every Heartbroken Girl

Thank you for the broken promises. Thank you for the happy memories. Thank you for the lessons. Thank you for leaving.

I want to pass on a message to every heartbroken girl out there — YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not even a year from now. But, one day, you’re gonna look back to this moment in your life and say: THANK YOU.

Thank you for the broken promises. Thank you for the happy memories. Thank you for the lessons. Thank you for leaving.

But, until then, don’t you dare let him win. Don’t you dare let him break you. I see you with that bottle of wine and tub of ice cream and nights full of tears. I see you with that self-doubt. I see you with that self-hatred.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself; that will do you no good. Yes, he hurt you. Yes, you deserve better. Yes, it sucks. But, pick yourself up and get over it.

Easier said than done? I get that. But, at least try. Make a decision that today is the day you’ll finally move on. You are strong. You are passionate. You are loved. You don’t need someone to be your strength, passion or love. You owe it to yourself to try.

Let him go spread his wings. The pull of your gravity cannot bind a soul that is meant to fly. Let. Him. Go. You go, too.

Go find yourself. Discover your true potential. Turn heartbreak into a heart break.

Don’t submit to society’s version of love. Don’t submit to society. Period. Make your own rules. And break some while you’re at it. This can be the best thing that ever happened to you if you let it. So, let it. And, please, please, please, for the love of everything that’s good, love yourself.

Love yourself so you won’t NEED someone to love you. Love yourself so the next person that rolls around will add to you not fill you. Love yourself enough to remind yourself that you deserve more than what he can offer you.

Love yourself.
Love yourself.
