Mandy Moore Knows How ‘This Is Us’ Will End (And Yes, You’re Going To Cry)
If you’re a fan of This Is Us, then you’re probably no stranger to sobbing throughout the hour-long episodes every week (or, you know, whenever you binge it). As it turns out, you can expect something similar from the series finale, but who’s really surprised?
Though there isn’t yet an end date in sight for the popular show, stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia, who play the married couple Rebecca and Jack Pearson, have already shot some footage for the episode. Which means that while we may not know what’s left in store for us with the show, creator Dan Fogelman knows exactly where it’s headed. And if what Mandy Moore told Jimmy Kimmel this week is true, you’ll definitely need to stock up on tissues.
“I think the ending will be very satisfying,” Moore said. “I think it’s very true to what the show evokes from all of us.”
“In other words, people are going to be crying,” Kimmel said.
“People will feel their feelings,” Moore confirmed.
The actress also claimed that the reason they shot the finale scenes so early was to “capture content in the now” before the actors grew older, insinuating that the finale will definitely have some emotional flashbacks — or perhaps even cameos from their younger selves.
While we still have a long way to go till we get to the finale (at least, at the rate it’s been going), it’s nice to know that Fogelman and the cast don’t plan on changing the tone of the show anytime soon. And while I by no means want the show to end, I’m more excited than ever to see where our characters will be by the final episode.
